Introductory Scuba Diving from Cairns

Introductory dives are for those who are not certified and want to experience scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef.

That’s right, if you have never dived before, and have always wished to experience first-hand the beauty of the underwater world you can arrange an Introductory dive with one of our friendly and professional Instructors.

Through the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program, you will be taught all the basic skills required to dive down to a depth of up to 12 metres while accompanied by one of our experienced PADI qualified instructors. Divers are broken up into small groups of 4 people, are always guided and the experience lasts up to 20 minutes giving you time to feel comfortable and begin to enjoy your first dive on the Great Barrier Reef. 

Evolution's massive back deck, combined with specially designed fold-out 'Wings' which to provide more space, comfort, and safety for our guests as they enter the water.

Lycra suits and wet suits are included free of charge for divers.

Our Reef Locations:

We choose two unique outer reef locations on the day based on water clarity and weather conditions to give you the best Great Barrier Reef trip! All of our reef sites are havens for marine life, including turtles, colourful fish, and thriving coral colonies, offering a diverse range of areas to explore for both snorkelers and scuba divers.

Important Diving Information:

Scuba diving can be strenuous under certain conditions. Your respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health.

• Divers over 65 years must have medical clearance from a doctor confirming they are fit to dive.
• All divers are required to complete a Medical Questionnaire on the day.
• The minimum age for Introductory divers: 12+ years and Certified divers: 10+ years.
• All medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and ANY prescription medications will require a letter or email from a doctor clearing you to dive. The clearance must state your full name, the doctor's name and practice, the doctor's signature and the clearance to dive for the specific medication/condition.
• No refunds for voluntary uncompleted or attempted dives.
• In the interests of safety, we recommend no flying within 24hours of the last dive. You will not be allowed to dive until you are declared medically fit to dive. For advice, please contact our office directly.
